Two ways to update
The box refuses any file whose signature does not match, and keeps running its current firmware until the new one is fully written and verified. Your WiFi, password, alarms and cloud settings are kept.
From the box, over the internet
Open your box (http://pylon-check.local), go to Update firmware and press Install the latest version. The box downloads the file from pylon-check.com, checks its signature, installs it and restarts by itself in one to three minutes.
With the file
Download the .bin above. On the box, Update firmware → Update firmware from a file: choose the file, paste the signature shown above, press Install firmware. Keep the page open until the box is back.
What changed
v1.0 October 7, 2026
First PylonCheck release.
- New dashboard on the box: the whole stack drawn battery by battery with its four charge LEDs, RUN and ALM, energy flow, cell map against each battery’s own average, 24-hour curve with a cursor, light and dark mode.
- “Update over the internet” on the box’s firmware page: it checks pylon-check.com and installs the latest version in one click.
- PylonCheck Cloud on pylon-check.com: history, alerts and every battery from anywhere, once you enable it in Settings.
- Mandatory personal password (European EN 18031 rules), stays signed in for a year on each browser.
- Reads every Pylontech module through the CONSOLE port, up to 16 per stack: cells, SOH, cycles, temperatures, alarms. Read-only, never writes to a battery.
- Home Assistant (MQTT auto-discovery), JSON API, CSV export, Pushover alarms.
Questions
Do I lose my settings when I update?
No. An update replaces the program only; WiFi, password, MQTT, alarms and cloud settings stay as they are.
What if the power goes off during an update?
Nothing breaks: the box keeps its current firmware until the new one has been fully written and its signature checked.
How do I know which version I have?
The box shows it in This box → Firmware on its dashboard, and on its Update firmware page.
Your battery, from anywhere. For 45 €.
Cloud dashboard, history, alerts, Home Assistant and MQTT included. No subscription.
